"Nice office. Success with a renters insurance policy, business insurance did not go so well. The point of this review is to simply inform what can happen with a business insurance policy that I imagine clients are not aware of. Employees there are very friendly. To start: if you sign and prepay for a business policy, the underwriter for State Farm can potentially change that policy classification in a couple months time to more than double your premium even though all business parameters remain unchanged. I understand if you mislead an insurance company about your business — that is not in good faith and was not the case here. In my case, I received an amended bill several months after signing and paying for my policy. This bill was more than double what I had already paid. I thought this was a clerical error and reached out to the Allendale office with several phone calls over the course of a few months receiving a “yes, we’ll take care of it response.” As I continued to receive bills in the mail, realizing that talking to someone on the phone would not resolve the issue, I finally visited in person at the local office for them to understand what happened and that the underwriter made this “unilateral” change. Unfortunately, the many months prior with calls yielded no discovery on their part. In the end, this was resolved by calling the corporate office and filing a complaint. If I didn’t reach out to corporate I would have been out over $1k and a lot of wasted time. I imagine I am a unique case, and that business insurance I am told is not their focus. I do have a renters insurance policy there and will continue to do so for its duration. Also, for context I have an Amica auto policy for home and insurance and they are more pricy but an excellent company. So let me sum this up. Nice people at the Allendale office, they have lots of great Google reviews so they must be doing something right. Just be aware of what can happen with a business policy. The sales reps are terrible but the one whoms very rude and sarcastic is Charleen harry, she called me and asked if I was looking for new insurance I explained to her I had added my information online and instead I know she wanted to reput in all my information just to get commission. Which I am a Salesman myself. She hung up the phone on me and I called back about 15 times to let her know that was rude and to speak with an manager but instead she let the phone go off the hung and never answered I will go to cooperate and voice my opinion because not a good way to treat a customer. I WOULD STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE.Horribile way to want to get a Quote . And understand I don’t even write google reviews but this has to be heard."
